Advent One Group is an independently owned business with interests in SMPP and Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Projects in South Africa and neighbouring territories. The basket of services we render are in the Mining, Industrial, Petrochemical, Oil and Gas as well as Renewable sectors. Focussing on the procurement, installation and commissioning of Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Control and Instrumentation, Platework and Piping projects.

By making use of and promoting localization and a mixture of temporary and full-time Skilled, Semi-skilled and Unskilled labour, we have capacity to do the following;

Procurement: Geared to procure Major Equipment, all construction and sundry materials and having logistical support in place

Plant and Equipment: Advent One Group have invested heavily in specialised and normal tools, equipment and plant required for the installation process, making it self-sufficient.

Management: Involves organising, planning, quality and safety, monitoring and costing of schedules for the entire construction process. Identifying risks and taking correct steps to align with planned targets and ensure minimal operational disruptions.

SUSTAINABILITY

Labour Relations

As an active member of the Metal and Engineering Industries Bargaining Council (MEIBC)and National Bargaining Council for the Electrical Industry (NBCEI) as well as the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA), we adhere to the Main Agreements with regards to wages and related substantial conditions of employment for our hourly paid employees. We conform to the basic conditions of Employment Act (BCE), the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSACT) and the Labour Relations Act (LRA).

Have developed and implemented procedures and policies specifically geared towards ensuring harmonious work relationships which contribute to the completion of projects on time, within budget and with the least amount of disruptions.

Training and Skills Development:

It is our fundamental belief that human capital is the driving force for success in any organization. Hence each year, we embark on a Skills audit amongst all our employees where the individual's training needs are identified and relevant training is arranged through a SETA accredited training provider.

We also take our social responsibility seriously and partake in the general upgrading of skills of the local people that reside in areas where our projects are located. Most of the training is done through accredited training provider/s.

Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality: (SHEQ) Management System

The Advent One Group Safety, Health and Environmental Management System (SHEMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) comply with the requirements of ISO 14001; 45001 and 9001.

These requirements are defined in the Advent One Group SHEMS and QMS Procedural Manual and in Advent One Group Standard Operating Procedures, such that they are available to Advent One employees in offices, workshops and sites, both electronically and in hard copy for implementation.

Both the SHEMS and the QMS are audited on an annual basis by DQS, a leading certification body. In addition, internal audits are carried out by Advent One SHE and Quality personnel in offices, workshops and sites on a rotational basis.

SHE Manager/ Officer and Quality Coordinator/Manager is appointed for each workshop/site, depending on size and /or duration. These persons are responsible for ensuring that all SHE and Quality documentation such as SHE/Quality Policy, SHE/Quality Objectives and other related SHE/Quality documentation is available throughout the workshop/site as prescribed by the ISO 14001, 45001and 9001 documentation management system.

The Advancement of Advent One

Independently owned SMEIPP construction company Advent One Group recently finalised a complete management buyout of Tubular Group’s two operating entities, Tubular Engineering Services South Africa (TESSA) and Tubular Electrical Projects (TEP).

Welcome Note

Welcome to Advent One news, the tool designed to disseminate information about the group to all stakeholders and keep everyone informed. The Group Vision of building a sustainable organization through collaboration with stakeholders will be achieved through sustained communications and information sharing using all platforms at its disposal.

Advent One Group was formed for the purpose of acquiring equity previously held by Tubular Holdings (Pty) Ltd in ‘Tubular Electrical Projects (Pty) Ltd’ and ‘Tubular Engineering Services South Africa Ltd’. The process that commenced in early January 2020 was concluded in March 2020, and resulted in the creation of two business entities focused on SMPP and EC&I construction projects in South Africa and neighbouring territories. The entities’, Advent One Electrical Projects (Pty) Ltd and Advent One Projects (Pty) Ltd are the vehicles through which services will be delivered to our esteemed clients.

As we celebrate this momentous milestone, management of the group and its subsidiaries would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to all stakeholders who provided their support thus enabling the realization of a dream during these challenging times.

With the wealth of expertise and experience, we are confident of meeting market expectations for current and future projects.

Advent One Group

With the motto “One Team, One Mission and Your Success” to uphold, the group has engaged the ISO Certification Body with the view of ensuring that all the systems are certified under the group’s name. It is our way of sending the unequivocal message to the market and stakeholders, that our services will be managed by application of industry-recognized systems.

It is anticipated that the changes within the group and its subsidiaries will be completed by the end of the third quarter of the year.

Projects in progress

During April 2020 and May 2020, Advent One advised its clients of the changes, and with great sense of collaboration and working together, the existing Contracts awarded prior to the management buyout were changed into the name of Advent One.

Northam

Booysendal Platinum Limited concluded the Contract with Advent One Electrical Projects for the UG E&I Cables and General Electric Equipment for the installation of 16.4km of MV, LV and Instrument cables & equipment on Surface and Underground for a period of three months. The works are being carried out on surface and underground during construction period.

Black Rock Mine Operations

The Contract concluded with Assmang (Pty) Limited in December 2019 for the EC&I Installation Works for Nchwaning II Main Drive North and III 61 TIP 01 included the procurement, fabrication, delivery and installation of 129km of MV, LV, Instrument and Fibre Network cables as well as associated cable support systems & equipment over the construction period of seven months. The works are predominately underground.

On the 29th May 2020, Assmang (Pty) Limited concluded the Contract with Advent One Electrical Projects for the EC&I Installation Works for Gloria 74 Section. This contract included the procurement, fabrication, delivery and installation of 38.4km of MV, LV, Instrument and Fibre Network cables as well as associated cable support systems & equipment over the construction period of five months. Installation of 38.4km of MV, LV, Instrument and Fibre Network cables as well as cable support systems & equipment will predominately be carried out underground.

Advent One Electrical Projects, working with the Assmang Package Engineers, will co-ordinate the mobilization of resources in line with outlined procedures to mitigate and manage risks associated with Covid-19.

Exxaro GG6 Expansion

Advent One Projects is on track to deliver the EXXARO GG6 expansion project at Grootgeluk mine in Lephalale, Limpopo.

Whilst Advent One Projects continues to contribute towards the completion of the EXXARO GG6 Expansion Project, it simultaneously contributes towards community development in the local area, reports Managing Director, Silas Matshaba

Matshaba points out that Advent One Projects has upskilled local communities through employment and participation of SMMEs. He adds that the company is especially pleased to be able to add value to the region through training and job creation.

The GG6 expansion project encompasses Civils, structural, mechanical, platework and piping works. The erection works, in progress, has been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and is now scheduled to be complete by December 2020.

SAPPI Digester Building

Advent One Project was awarded a contract for the manufacturing of the Digester Building for SAPPI SAICOR in Umkomaas, KZN.

Advent One Projects has added value to the project through its experience and expertise in this field.
